The services described below are all part of what is called Oriental Medicine, Eastern Medicine or Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It has been in use in China and other Asian countries for thousands of years. It is a complete system of health care that can be used to treat a variety of diseases. Combined with dietary therapy and other lifestyle changes (such as exercise), Oriental Medicine can be a powerful tool for achieving health, wellness, and happiness.
Acupuncture is the insertion of small gauge, disposable, sterile needles into specific points throughout the body. The needles stimulate the body in order to correct the imbalances that contribute to the root cause of disease.
Herbal Medicine
Herbal Medicine is the use of natural substances (mostly plants) either singly or in combination to restore the body to health. Herbal formulas are tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient. They may be dispensed in raw or powdered form and cooked into a tea or as pills or tablets.
Tui Na
Translated as "push-pull", tui na is a form of massage based on the same principles as acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. It can be used by itself or in conjunction with acupuncture. When appropriate patients can be taught simple techniques that they can use themselves.
